This beautiful mission style apartment building in the heart of Historic Kenwood was built in the 1920's and like many apartment buildings in the area was neglected and abused for decades. In 2015, Bob and Lynn Jeffrey purchased the building at auction. They went through the city's reinstatement process to re-establish the grandfathered units then began an extensive renovation of the building. Prior to the renovation, the deteriorated roof funneled 30 inches of summer rain water into the building destroying the wood floors and plaster. During the restoration, two exterior walls collapsed and an entire new foundation was needed to support the rear structure. Today the building has been restored to its former opulence. Due to its mission style heritage, and the extensive renovation budget, the befitting name of Costa Lotta as been selected.
There are two 2 bedroom / 2 bath apartments in the main building and a 1bedroom / 1 bath garage apartment. Each apartment has their own designated parking space in the garage and is equipped with all new appliances, grant countertops, large closets and upgraded finishes.
